- yes. in fact, most states are mandating that b20 (20% biodiesel mixture) be used. this will create some initial problems with older engines... biodiesel is a very effective solvent and will erode away some of the deposits in fuel lines causing injector failure and plugging. once all the deposits have been washed away, however, the engine will run just fine.
- You can convert any engine to run on biodiesel.
- Bio-diesel will not work in a gasoline engine. It will clog every thing up.
- sure they will run on any kind of oil, most owner operators even put their 7 to 9 gallons of used motor oil from the engine in the fuel tank when they change their oil. untreated vegetable oil will gel & clog the fuel system though in cold weather unless its mixed with regular fuel. the only reason we use diesel refined from petroleum is because its cheaper & easier to obtain in quanity than vegetable oil.
- Yes, any semi truck can run on bio-diesel provided it can use ultra-low sulfur diesel, those that can't use the ultra-low sulfur diesel need to be modified to run on ULSD because that is what is going to be sold in the US from now on, so after the engines are modified, new pumps, and in some cases new injectors, then they can run on the ULSD or 100% bio-diesel or any blend of diesel/bio-diesel
- yes and they can run on 100%soy look up calf.
- most all semi trucks made after 1990 have to be made to run biodiesil!
- If the gaskets and hoses are compatable then yes.
- I remember hearing some of the first biodiesel vehicles were semis. They ran on the old french fry oil from Mcdonalds. The freeway stunk like fries and everyone on the road had a hunkering for some.
- Uhhh guess you need to ask Willie Nelson he sells it down at Carls Corner... truck stop down by Abbott, Texas!!!!!
- The first Diesel engine was manufactured to run on peanut oil
